The Garret: Toni Jordan

The Garret Podcast

Event Date: 1 December 2016 to 31 December 2017
Author / Presenters: Nicholas Brasch and Toni Jordan

Toni Jordan is one of Australia’s most loved authors. A former self-confessed science nerd, she left an established career in the sciences (as a protein chemist, to be precise) after being tempted by RMIT’s Professional Writing and Editing courses.

A decade later, she is the author of four books and has taught writing at RMIT herself.

Toni Jordan is the author of four novels:
* Our Tiny, Useless Hearts, published in 2016
* Nine Days (2012), which was awarded Best Fiction at the 2012 Indie Awards, shortlisted for the ABIA Best General Fiction award and named in Kirkus Review’s Top 10 Historical Novels of 2013
* Fall Girl (2010), which has been optioned for film
* Addition (2008), which was long-listed for the Miles Franklin award.

Listen to Toni discuss his writing career at https://thegarretpodcast.com/toni-jordan/.

Season 1 features eight Victorian-based writers talking about their craft. These writers represent many genres. The common thread is success: these writers are the top of their fields.

Season Two will feature leading writers from across Australia, and Season Three will include international writers. The Garret was born in Melbourne, a UNESCO City of Literature. And it is supported by our community. We are proud to partner with the State Library of Victoria, Readings, Writers Victoria and Swinburne University.
