This is a 90-minute workshop exploring techniques and strategies when writing a monologue or directly addressing the audience. Areas covered will include: When to break the 4th wall and why Games of 'Who Knows What?’ and how they create comedy and tragedy Less is More—how to get your point across with maximum impact There will be an opportunity to read monologues prepared ahead of the workshop and time to create a monologue during the workshop. If you are a SWWV member, this event is free. If you are not a member, you are welcome to purchase a ticket for $25 and join us. Speaker: Issie Hart Operatic, chaotic, Iconic: multi-award-winning soprano Issie Hart (They/Them) has been delighting cabaret venues around the world for over 15 years. Issie has performed on mountains, rooftops, bridges as well as opera houses, theatres and circus tents around the world. Issie’s work has been described as: ‘The Rarest of things... Issie was a member of the creative development team of award-winning circus cabaret show Rouge and toured with the show for three years. Issie runs a successful studio as a vocal coach, director, dramaturg and creative mentor and works with artists of diverse backgrounds, experience levels and abilities. Issie is also the founder and leader of the new Ballarat Cabaret Festival.
