Launches at the Library: Language and Gesture
LT University Events
What happens when language gets stuck in the brain? Is a dog still a dog when you can no longer find the word for it? Gesture is a key part of modern human language. Is the capacity to gesture uniquely human? What can gesture tell us about the origin of human language? Hosted by Professor Raelene Wilding, join Dr Lauren Gawne (Gesture: A Slim Guide) and Dr Carrie Tiffany (The Lady With the Dog) for a conversation about their research and writing on language and gesture. Book sales will be available and light refreshments will follow.
