Have you got an idea for a film or TV series but don't know where to start? This practical three-session online course is designed to take your writing from raw concept to confident pitch. Led by working screenwriter, producer and director Tristram Baumber, co-creator of ABC's The PM's Daughter and a writer on the reboot of Mother and Son, this course gives you the tools to develop your screen idea from the ground up and present it to the world. Across three three-hour sessions, you'll explore the fundamentals of screen storytelling, learn how to shape and strengthen your concept and develop the pitching skills used by working industry professionals. Whether you have a half-formed idea or a concept you've been sitting on for years, this course will help you find the story you want to tell and give you the confidence to tell others about it. Session 1 | Saturday 19 September Session 2 | Sunday 20 September Session 3 | Sunday 27 September Course requirements: Participants should come to Session 1 with a screen idea they'd like to work on, it doesn't need to be fully formed.

• How to write an effective logline and one paragraph pitch
• How to deliver a confident pitch – and who to deliver it to
• How to identify and develop a strong screen premise

About the Tutor:

Tristram Baumber is a screenwriter, producer and director with over a decade of experience in Australian film and television. He co-created and showran ABC's AACTA-nominated The PM's Daughter and received an AWGIE nomination for his writing on Mother and Son. He also wrote and co-directed the independent horror feature Site Unseen, hitting Australian cinemas soon. Tristram has delivered screenwriting workshops and courses for organisations across Australia, including Screenworks and Griffith Film School.
