Unwritten Women: Filling History’s Gaps
Society of Women Writers Victoria
Join us for the second workshop with our Virtual Writer in Residence, Tania Hershman from Manchester, UK.
History has many, many gaps – and much of what's forgotten or unwritten involved what women did, across the world, in all fields, from art and science to inventions, politics, sport, and so much more! Did you know that a woman invented the game of Monopoly as a way to highlight the evils of monopolies – and that it was stolen and sold by a major game company without crediting her? Have you heard of the woman who was the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel? Join Tania Hershman, to learn more about these women and so many others, and to tell their stories – and the stories of women from your history – in your own way and in any word-shapes, from fiction and poetry to creative non-fiction and hybrids. Let's fill in history's gaps!
