Nalini Singh

Whitehorse Manningham Libraries

Event Date: 27 April 2022
Author / Presenters: Nalini Singh

Born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand author Nalini Singh has worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a bank temp and an English teacher, but as she says "not necessarily in that order".

With over forty published titles translated into thirteen different languages Nalini is recognised as one of the leaders in paranormal / urban fantasy writing with her acclaimed Psy/Changeling and Guild Hunter series, as well as her contemporary romance novels, and most recently two crime thrillers.

Her writing career kicked off in 2002 when one of her early category romance novels was sold to US publishers Silhouette. In 2006 during the time paranormal romance novels were gaining more momentum Nalini began her Psy / Changeling series and in 2009 the first novel in the Guild Hunter series, Angel's Blood, was released. Both series have American / European settings and have achieved critical and reader acclaim, and have gained huge worldwide following. Along with these two popular series Nalini has written contemporary romance and in 2019 published a stand-alone thriller set in New Zealand, giving readers both the landscape and culture of the region, combined with the intrigue a gripping thriller story. A second thriller, Quiet In her Bones was released in 2021.

A master at the craft of world building, Nalini joins us via Zoom from her home in New Zealand for an in-conversation style talk with one of our branch librarians covering her writing career and will delve into the intricate worlds she has created within her two most popular series.
