Join us to read and discuss all manner of books with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer characters and themes.
Back by popular demand!
We read and talk about queer books – broadly defined as those which relate to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual or queer lives. In 2018 we read poetry, egged on Will and Harriet in Amelia Westlake, contemplated Carol’s depiction of lesbian life in 1950s America, and hotly debated The Argonauts…among other things.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along and join our conversation.
The books we'll be discussing in the first six months are:
- February – Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg
- March – Less: a novel by Andrew Sean Greer
- May – The Hours by Michael Cunningham
- June – Assorted queer history readings
- July – Loaded by Christos Tsiolkas
- August - Heat and Light by Ellen van Neerven.
(There will be no meeting in April due to the Easter Monday public holiday)
For 16+ year olds.
Fourth Monday of the month, 6pm to 7pm.
