Travel Writer Tim Richards
Frankston City Libraries
Travel writer Tim Richards reveals the secrets of good travel writing. Travel writing is a curious type of journalism; often written in first person, it must tread a fine line to avoid the blandness of “what I did on my summer holiday” accounts, and the predictable glowing phrases of tourism brochures.
Tim is an experienced travel writer with articles published in newspapers and magazines across the world, and he has undertaken regular assignments for Lonely Planet. Tim will recount a major travel writing trip made by air and rail to Europe and the USA in 2014, taking in London, Cardiff, Brussels, Cologne, Berlin and New York.
