BIG HEART
WRITTEN BY PATRICIA CORNELIUS
DIRECTED BY SUSIE DEE
“I want to live life well. I want to be involved. To be hands on, to experience the day to day. To deal with real flesh and blood. To invest, absolutely, in someone who needs me. And who I will love unconditionally. I have no doubt that I will make an excellent mother.”
Punctuated by moments of catharsis and joy, BIG HEART is the story of a woman who adopts a child from each of the continents. She believes she offers the children a better life, free from poverty, war, or neglect.
Formidable Writer/Director duo Dee and Cornelius, known for their multi 2016 Green Room award winning production SHIT (2015) and a fearless approach to theatre-making, place Australian identity at the centre of a cross-examination from all corners of the globe, in a show exploring themes of multiculturalism, racism and the love between mother and child.
